Our ancestors saw it all. World wars, economic turmoil, pandemics, the death of family members, religious persecution, systemic oppression, natural disasters, famines, and countless personal setbacks.

Yet they persevered.

As we navigate through our own tumultuous times in a constantly changing world, we can learn so much from our foremothers and fathers.

These memories — generously shared by our members and visitors — are a testament to the courage, ingenuity, and good humor of generations past.

As the poet Maya Angelou so eloquently said, “We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.”
